Jo Wood
Jo is an artist, coach, and facilitator who brings a creative, body-informed approach to leadership and group development. Based in London, she’s been part of the RISE community since 2016, supporting our work both as a consultant and as our resident artist.
Her practice is grounded in curiosity: about what lies beneath the surface, what shapes our behaviour, and how we find greater choice in how we show up, relate, and lead.

Playfulness, insight, sensitivity...
Jo’s facilitation style is calm, spacious and intuitive. She creates environments where people feel safe to explore discomfort, difference, and the invisible dynamics that so often shape group life. Her work invites reflection, connection, and meaningful shifts—whether through structured dialogue, embodied practice, or moments of creative expression.
With academic grounding in Psychology and Gender Studies, Jo brings both rigour and imagination to her practice. She is trained in Coaching for Leadership (Psychodynamic Approaches) through the Tavistock Institute and is a practitioner of Body Informed Leadership, Nonviolent Communication, and improvisation-based work. These diverse influences inform how she supports individuals and groups to explore power, identity, and inclusion with depth and care.
Jo is also co-founder of PlayScapes, an initiative focused on difference, exclusion and belonging. Her client work spans sectors including retail, manufacturing, telecoms, and leadership networks, with organisations such as N Brown, Warburtons, OilSpill Response, Bruntwood and the Young Presidents’ Organisation.
Whether coaching one-to-one or holding space for collective exploration, Jo brings clarity, creativity and a deep respect for the human experience.
