Rise Beyond Beliefs and Borders

Since 2012, we've helped leaders and organisations work better, together.

Our founding principle is an acknowledgement that to effectively tackle the challenges we face, we have to be able to work more effectively across difference.

Over the last decade, we’ve worked alongside leaders and teams to help build collaborative capacity to work with, not against, the complexity and interdependencies of life and work.

Rise Beyond Community

Women-led and  Community Owned 

In 2025, we transitioned to become not only a women-led but also a community-owned organisation. This shift reflects how we already work and what we want to support more of in the world. It provides us with a structure that helps us stay true to our values, make decisions collectively, and invest in long-term, relational work with care, accountability, and shared responsibility.

Organised as a Community of Practice

RISE is organised as a community of practice, a deliberate and involved way of being together. We take our own experience seriously, using it as a source of insight and challenge. This shapes how we work: we reflect often, learn in the midst of doing, and stay open to being changed by what we encounter. It means we bring curiosity, care, and rigour to our work, not just with clients, but with each other.

 Our Founding Story 

Rise Beyond was founded on a question that continues to challenge leaders across sectors and geographies today: why is effective collaboration so difficult, even when we know it’s essential?

Simon Preston, our founder, served as International Chairman of the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO), a global network of CEOs in over 130 countries, from 2009 to 2010. During that time, he engaged with business leaders, policymakers, and decision-makers around the world. Across every context, one recurring insight emerged:

"We know we need to collaborate better to address the complexity of our time, yet when it matters most, we often fall short."

The problem isn’t a lack of intelligence, ambition, or technical skill. It lies in the human dynamics that underpin how we work together: how trust is built or lost, how decisions are made under pressure, and how power and perspective shape our conversations, often in ways we don’t fully recognise.

Rise Beyond exists to help leaders navigate these dynamics with greater clarity, confidence, and integrity. We remain grounded in the same questions that sparked our founding: What makes collaboration so hard? What gets in the way? And what does it take to do it well, especially when the stakes are high?
