Joanne excels in ensuring clients are updated and supported with their upcoming sessions with RISE. Her role also sees her playing an integral part in the development of internal systems and processes; this includes the RISE App, surveys and assessments.
Previously a teacher and trainer in China working predominantly with high school and university students, Joanne then decided to develop her academic interests in discrimination and structural inequalities in society. She successfully undertook a career and personally enriching Masters in Gender Studies at the Central European University, Budapest which brought her into contact with like minded academics and professionals.
Joanne also has a dedicated role with the charity Protection Approaches, an organisation which aims to predict and prevent all forms of identity-based violence, Joanne has the key go-to position of Education Outreach Officer. She facilitates workshops and talks with small to very large groups of young adult students, encouraging them to think critically and be resistant to taking part in any kind of violence which is directed at any aspect of an individual or group identity.
